Ishac Bertran a dû, lui aussi, être découragé par la production contemporaine de poésie. L’artiste/ingénieur (nouvel avatar de l’auteur/professeur de Cégep?) travaille avec le code, langage des programmeurs.
« Bertran believes that code can and should be used to craft actual poetry, and hopes to merge the separate pursuits into a ground-breaking book: Code {poems}« .
Tout langage a le potentiel d’être le véhicule d’une poésie authentique: « It has its own set of rules (syntax) and meaning (semantics). Like code, not everything written in english is beautiful, but when a programmer or a poet crafts something amazing, it’s easy to see how both start from surprisingly similar tools ».
